4th Post

Imediately after i finished The Hunger Games, which by the way, you all should read, i started this book called Project 17. im already done! I couldnt put the thing down. ITs about this guy named Derrek (LA PLaya )LaPointe, a 17 year old who is a below average student and works at his family's diner. He wants to make a film and enter it in this contest, so that way he doesnt have to work at the diner for the rest of his life. I thinmk that this was a smart move becasue if he enede3d up working at the diner, it would basically say that he has no future, and thats what he and his parents expect him to do. Plus, the money in film making isnt bad either. So he gets this awesome cast of characters together. Mimi aka Halloween, is an goth freaky girl who actually plays a huge role in the story, Tony, a future director and ways less then me, Greta, a future actress, Liza, the super genious pretty girl, future Harvard graduate and doctor, and Chet, the goof ball. I think this is about as good of charaters in one book as u can get. U have goth girl, who knows weird yet important things, the overdramatic couple, who have a tenedency to make out, a funny guy,and the ladies man, . i think that just says perfect. So Derrek is going to make the movie, but heres the catch. Hes going to film it in an insane assylum. This is a really good spot, consisdering it is being torn down in a few days. So Mimi knows alot about this place, and they break in there with ease because of her instructions. Now, Derreck is planning to stay the whole night. So they set up the camera equiptment and start searching the place. They wander aroung shooting some good stuff when suddenly, the over dramatic couple are missing. Derrek and his little cast go running arounf like mad looking for them. Derreck opens this one door and theres this one doll hanging from a neuss! Its so freaky. It starts talking, it says as Derreck gtes near, "Baby Debbie likes to cry. Baby Debbie wants to die!" then the thing starts cracking up. Then after some unnecessary swearing Derrek gets the heck put of there. I thought this was really creepy because the author mixed something as innocent as a doll with something as serious and freaky as a neuss. Sorry if i spelled that wrong. Plus, the talking, werided me out. So they keep moving and filming. Oh yah, the doll really adds on to Liza saying, we dont belong here. SO they enter this art room, and there all these weird pics of these guys with no bodd parts hanging, and guys in barbed wire spider webs, and all that good stuff. Thats just plain disturbing, i mean, the art was for therapy. They found this journal that was about Cristine Belle, a former patient there... and how she liked the place, then hated it. Her only friend was this doll, not the one hanging though. She said she his it under this chair in the auditorium, number 17. They go in there, and there is no 17.the reason she wrote this beacause she was going to commit suicide after she hid the doll. They walk outside and realized that she must have jumoed off the roof. They come back inside and right infront of them is chair 17. They look under it and there is no doll. Then Mimi, who really wants to help Christine and let her rest in peace by finig Christy and giving her a home, breaks opent eh leg of the chir. Out pops a note. It says that christy is in her room in the ceiling. Mimi rushes up and finds the doll. After a few months, Derrek loses the contest, but they loved it so they showed it on the air. So the main part of the story was helping Christine. Thas About It. By

Third Post

Well, it took a while but i finally finished The Hunger Games. Ill tell yah, that is one of the best books i have ever read. The characters are interesting and exciting in ways that make you laugh and say that was cool, and a few other things that i dont exactly have time to go in depth about right now. I also loved all the fight sequences and how the author explained how Katniss(the main character) had to struggle with survival and all that other great stuff. DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU WANT TO READ THIS BOOK. So Peeta and Katniss make it out at the end. IM sure most of you thought that that was so predictable and all that other bad stuff, but there was an ending twist. The twist was that as soon as the last tribute besides them died, they revoked the rule that if you were from the same district two tributes could win. So Peeta and Katniss were about to put these poison nightlock berries to their mouths and and die at the same time when the gamemakers said that two tributes could win again. I thouoght that this was a great way to end it because it was so unpredictable in a way that made me think like, oh no, this isnt going to happen. I also thought this because because ive never read a book that two caharacters cared for eachother so much that they were willing to die for one and other. Cant wait for the sequal. By

Second Post

Hey everybody! How you doin? Well i am about 15 pages away from finishing the Hunger Games and I cant believe how amazing this book is. Katniss, our hero, made an alliance with this little girl named Rue. This little girl may only be twelve but is amazingly fast and knows about as much about the woods and survival as those guys on the Dicovery Channel. The career tributes, aka the guys who have the total advantage in the games took all the food supplies on the begining. Well, Katniss and Rue really didnt think the careers had a chance if they didnt have all that food. So, Quite simply, they blew it up. There were mines sourrounding it so they trigged it using apples. But, this wasn't all as good as it seems. Rue got captured in a net of the careers and before Katniss could get an arrow through the killer, she died. I though that this was one of the saddest parts in a book that i have ever read. After crying for a while after the death of her companion, Katniss met up with the boy in her district, Peeta. Thety became a team but Peeta had saved her earlier and he had paid the price for it. HIs leg was cut up and they gave a real detailed description about it and it was pretty nasty. She had to go to the cournacopia were the Gamemakers, the peeps who controlled the game had all the suppliesd each trtibute needed. KAtniss got the supplies but not unmarked. She was cut in the head and this guy Named Thresh who was from Rue's district saved her and let her go. Well all these aother tributed died leaving only our heroes and Cato, the second highest ranked contender after Katniss. I think that Rue should have been higher ranked because she was so agile. They were driven toward the cornacopia and Cato cmomes crashing through the trees, followed by these creatures that were mutants from tyhe capitol. I thought that was an interesting fate for the tributes but i am not the author. So the tributes climb the cornacopia, but KAtniss notices that the beasts have a familiar feature. They are human. But not only human, they are the ded tributes that the capitol had made in order to kill them. I was shocked. I thought they sent the tributesd back to there district where they were properly burried. Thats just un- humane. Well Cato dies off an arrow to the head and the Gamemakers undo the rule that there can be two victors if they are frpom tyhe same district. A good rule, at least i thougght it was. So our heroes were going to kill eat these poison berries at the same time, but then ther gamemakers undid the rule so they won. It ain't over yet though, so i will talk about some other time. By

Thursday's Post

I am reading The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. So far, i love it ! So far, the main character, Katniss Everdeen, a pour girl living in the worst district out of 12 in the country of Panem, has been chosen in a raffle to be entered in The Hunger Games. These are where 2 tributes from each district are fighting to the death for extra food for their district. I think that that is a horrible way for people living in bad places to get extra stuff. I mean, the richest place in the country (The Capitol) reallycouldnt let the poor districts live. Katnis has entered the games due to the picking of her twelve year old sister Primrose. She volunteered for her so she could live. That was a smart move by her, or at least i think it is. It gives her family, her village, and for sure her sister a better chance at life. Katniss is pretty skilled with a bow and arrow, so she stands a good chance in the games. I think that so far, this is one of the best books i have ever read. It has a lot of action, it's a little sad, it's got a great plot, and it's even got a little love story (uh oh) in the mix. Well that's about it so far, so by.
